Announcing The Bloggies 2025!
The Bloggies 2025 are coming.
Don't worry. We have a whole year to forget, then remember, then panic to nominate next year's crop. In the meantime, a re-introduction of sorts. These are The Bloggies. A yearly celebration of blogging in tabletop roleplaying games. It's one part award show and one part battle royale.
You can find out more about The Bloggies and how they work by checking the About page.
Who's this year's host?
In case you didn't know, the host role is passed from one platinum winner to the next. The 2024 host was Sacha Goat who won The Bloggies in 2023. Before them it was Zedeck Siew. Before Zedeck it was Prismatic Wasteland — who started The Bloggies. If you want to see all the past winners from platinum to copper, you can find them all on the winners page.
This year's host is Clayton Notestine (hello!) of Explorers Design. I won 2024's Bloggies with a silly post about combat without hit points. I'm proof you can win so long as you have an idea, nothing better to do, and a social media account to pester people with links.
Next year's host will be whoever wins The Bloggies 2025.
What are the dates?
The Bloggies are not as serious or big-budget as the other award shows. After all, it's not about the voting and winning, it's about the reading and writing. However, the past few years have followed the same rough schedule.
- Submissions open in December of 2025
- Voting starts in January of 2026
- We crown a winner at the end of January 2026
What's eligible?
Anything written between December 1st 2024 and December 31st 2025.*
*Last year the cutoff was November 31st, hence why you can submit posts late 2024. That said, I love a simple criteria, so I'm extending the deadline to December 31st.)
Okay, what do we do now?
Easy. Read and write. Bookmark your favorite blog posts as you find them. If you want them to be nominated, you have to remember to submit them. And if you're a blogger, well, do what you do best. Write awesome posts about orcs, spaceships, bookmarks, and why Yoko Ono is/isn't a roleplaying game designer. Write what interests you so other likeminded people can read it.
I have questions!
No you don't. Not yet. Wait until later in the year. Then reach out to me on Discord or BlueSky. Until then, see you in the blogosphere.
